Proton Sponsors Miss Universe Australia

30 September 2011

As a major sponsor of the Miss Universe Australia Pageant 2011, Proton Cars Australia could not be more proud of Scherri-Lee Biggs on winning the 2011 Crown.

The Western Australia beauty, Biggs was a clear crowd favourite at the Miss Universe Australia final and as far as Proton is concerned, the masses got it right.

So who exactly is Scherri-Lee Biggs?
Scherri-Lee was in fact born in a little holiday town in Durban South Africa called Balitto Bay and grew up on a small farm with 5 dogs, 6 cats, a horse, 2 peacocks, 52 ducks and a gaggle of geese and moved to Australia when she was just 8 years old to Watermans Bay Perth.

In Perth Scherri-Lee was involved in dance & drama and danced as a ballerina for a youth company until she was 15. She also carries a passion for cooking up a storm and painting.

Since she was crowned at the National Final on Thursday 7th July 2011, Scherri-Lee has a lot on her plate with her preparation for the international final and focusing the Miss Universe Australia’s continuous charity support and also on her new ambassadorship roles especially with Proton Cars which, included in her prizes, was a new Proton Car!

"I am so excited to be receiving my new Proton Car as I don’t have a car at the moment and now I can zip around from events to photo shoots looking stylish in my new Proton!" said the excited Scherri-Lee.

There is a lot lying in the future for this 20 year old, who is midway through a communications degree majoring in Public Relations and Journalism, and is soon headed for Sao Paulo Brazil to represent Australia on September 12th at Donald Trump’s international Miss Universe final.
