Latest reports from the motor industry say that Australia has been confirmed as the latest addition to Opel’s global expansion plans.
At this stage it looks like that in 2012 (still a year away) Australians will see the Corsa (light), Astra (small) and Insignia (medium).
There isn't any confirmed news on pricing at the moment. Reports from Opel say that pricing will be in line with that offered by Volkswagen equivalents eg $16,000-plus Polo, $25,000-plus Golf and $40,000-plus Passat.
Beyond the three intial brands to arrive, Opel will probably consider adding two new people movers in the Zafira and Meriva.
Australians have had a strong relationship with Opel via the Astra, which is expected to be the best seller by some margin.
