It’s Going to be all White

14 November 2011

With 49% of all new cars decided on by colour, 2011 seems to be more of the same with white once again topping the most popular car colour.

According to global auto paint manufacturer PPG Industries, white remains the colour of choice when buying a new car above all other options including runners-up silver at 19%; black and grey at 18% respectively and natural colors browns, tans, golds, oranges and yellows making up 7 percent.

And for those of you who think being eco-auto is nothing more than a fashionable fad, being green may be popular in car choice but only 2% want to be seen driving in a green-coloured car.

So how important is your car’s colour?
According to more research from PPG, a whopping 49% respondents chose their car based on its colour alone, with luxury cars and SUVs buyers willing to fork out extra to ensure the right colour choice.
