Celebrity Car Review – Deborah Hutton

10 May 2011

What’s your dream car and why?
A Holden Monaro CVR8 – and I actually own one. Nothing compares to the sound of a V8 engine and it’s a sexy beast inside too with the most deliciously comfortable bucket seats.

You’re taking a road-trip and can take 3 passengers – who would you take and why?
Jeremy Clarkson because he’d challenge you to take the car further than you normally would. Billy Connolly... long road trips require a good sense of humour; and the gorgeous Bradley Cooper, as I’d like a little eye candy for my rear-vision mirror!

Your life’s soundtrack?
‘Cherish The Day’ by SADE.

Do you have a vice? If so, what is it and why?
I have a thing for light-to-medium-bodied Pinot Noirs from New Zealand and Victoria. I’ve finally succumbed to the fact that moderation is the best key... but if I’m on a roll with a dinner party at my house, there’s happily no end of supply from my wine cellar!

What makes you happy?
Hanging out with my dog, Billie; playing a consistently good round of golf, having friends over for a lazy weekend lunch, reflecting on all the good in my life and counting my blessings.

What advice would you give yourself at age 20?
Don’t smoke, (I did when I was 20) – it’s the worst personal habit one can have. Time travels faster as you get older... don’t waste it, and don’t sweat the small stuff – things have a way of sorting themselves out, it just takes time and patience.

Where is your favourite holiday destination?
It’s impossible to have just one! But it falls into the category of warm and sunny with the sound of waves crashing at your door, a resort golf course not too far away and a giant-sized bed with luxury linen to crawl into every night.

What are your top-five recommendations for retaining a healthy and gorgeous appearance?
Drink a lot of water to flush the system and hydrate the skin.

Be committed to a good skincare regime from an early age with products that benefit your skin. I’ve been using Olay Regenerist for about 10 years and my skin is in great condition. They’re always coming out with innovative products that really work... the latest fave of mine is the Anti-Aging Roller ball for under the eyes. It’s so cool I have one in my handbag and one in the fridge!

Exercise regularly; I’ve changed things around a little as I get older spending more time with Pilates and slightly less time at the gym but the combination of both and walking Billie a couple of times a day really pays off.

Look after your appearance, find a good hairdresser, book in for facials, regular mani/pedis and take pride in the way you look.

Get some proper sleep. Never underestimate the power of a solid night’s, uninterrupted sleep. This is where the body heals itself and makes up for all the fun we’ve had!

Which woman do you most admire and why?
There are some amazing women in this world who have accomplished great things but the one closest to my heart, who I have the utmost admiration for, is my Mum. She’s had a very challenging life but has always approached it with great strength, smart thinking, and courageous decisions and has importantly never lost her sense of humour.
