Today’s number-crunching news reveals that a European invasion has been encroaching on Australian shores and most of us wouldn’t even know it. Of the 14.9 million drivers this country boasts, 1 million are driving European makes. That’s a 45% increase in 5 years!
Perhaps invasion is a misnomer considering Australian drivers have welcomed European cars with open arms and are enjoying their time together. On average, 90% of drivers of European car makes are pretty chuffed with their vehicles. Top spot goes to Renault and Volvo, which lead the Euro pack with 94% customer satisfaction.
However, it’s not all good news for the Euros – their average is down 2 percentage points since the last survey 5 years ago. Also, while almost two-thirds of European cars on Australia roads are made by German companies, only Mercedes-Benz has made gains over the last 5 years.
For the car sado-masochists out there looking for their next grievance-inducing car, Citroen and Saab were found to be the most disappointing manufacturers.
