Aston Martin Goes Frenchy-Chic

06 July 2011

The French have reigned in the style stakes for centuries. So it comes as no surprise iconic brand Aston Martin went no further than French designer fashion-store Colette to produce a special edition version of one of its latest models.

Any fashionista worth her oversized handbag knows Colette will be their first stop when they finally make it to Paris. The cult store is famous for its incredible selection of anything and everything hip, unique and exclusive. Oh, and there’s even a water bar where you can take your pick from 100 different kinds of the clear elixir... If it’s OTT and oh so Frenchy-chic - you’ll find it at Colette.

So Aston Martin’s teaming up with the store to produce a version of its Cygnet City Car giving the chic stamp of approval is pure marketing genius.

Stylish? The Cygnet and Colette special edition vehicle has silver paintwork, with blue detailing on the front bumper and bonnet and blue highlights on the alloy wheels.

The revamp continues inside with chocolate-brown leather upholstery and Colette-blue 'occasional-cushions' for the rear seats. A few extra treats sweeten the deal: a guide to Paris, a customised Sigg water bottle and four compilation CDs to make sure you have the appropriate soundtrack for all your fabulous days spent behind the wheel of this chic automotive fashion- statement.

Naturally, the model is only available at Colette’s Paris store and, you’d better be quick - just 14 were built, priced at €48,995 (66,147 AUD). Viva la France!
